I'm a big fan of Cartograms for lots of reasons... this one is too good of a Caricature of our country!

I find an uncanny resemblance to a some kind of sea-creature.

New England => thick-necked, Big-Headed creature.
California => Ass-end.
Florida =>  Engorged Penis.
Deep South and Plains West => Bowels

I was watching the BBC live video coverage of the election last night and they periodically showed the
simplest form of a the map morphed by population size (i.e. only red and blue per state).  They also
had a touch-screen based map which the newscaster manipulated for getting the latest results.

Hey Judith,

I noticed that too. The other highlight of the BBC evening was Gore  
Vidal's interview. Not meaningful at all, but quite funny.
