disk cloning?

Greetings fellow technomancers,
After trying ease to do backup and shadow copy clone for window
both seem to take ages and n quite a complete backup I wonder if anyone hasexprience with backing up a windows hard drive.

I've done it with dd on a linux system.  But ghost seems to be the Windows admin preferred solution.
