The Myth of Bernie Sanders

Jochen Fromm-5
Bernie Sanders is one of the few US politicians who seems to be different: he speaks critically about Corporate America, Wall Street, and the 1% super-rich.

This article paints a different picture:

What do you think, is he a potential candidate to be the next president?

I dunno, Jochen;  this information might give me pause if I was thinking of supporting him instead of Hilary on grounds that he was a more progressive candidate.

I am beginning to think that all of this “cult of the individual” stuff is a distraction.  We are all caught up in a transnational, right-wing, neo-con Pandemic.  The conditions for the collapse of capitalism and the dictatorship of the proletariat are fast approaching.  Are we ready?

Re: The Myth of Bernie Sanders

George Duncan-2
Bernie Sanders was a classmate of mine at the University of Chicago where he was actively engaged in left-wing politics. I also spoke with him at our 50th reunion in June. To my mind he is about as far to the left as you can get and still get elected...even in Vermont. Regardless of the article I think his commitment to the poor is sincere. But I don't see him manning the barricades in Nick's revolutionary movement. No dictatorship of the proletariat from him.

Hawks on the left seek to improve the greater good, in part, by ensuring that those that do not will be ineffective in pursuing their goals.   What sorts of investments and tradeoffs to make in order to achieve this are good topics for debate among those of this mind.    It must depend on who is considered bad and who is worse.    Between, say, ISIS and Borg, I’d have to go with Borg.
