Fwd: NetLogo 4.1 released

Owen Densmore
Administrator
The major new upgrade of netlogo is now outa beta!

This release seems to be a serious step forward!  I've tried it on my
tutorial  site and works fine.  One huge plus is that you can run more
models as web page applets, so the GIS extension, for example, should
be available for web use.

The transition guide is very useful and I updated all the tutorial
apps in minutes.

Main problem I encountered was:
+ set [variable] of ... is no longer allowed; use ask ... [ set
   variable ... ] instead

Re: Fwd: NetLogo 4.1 released

Nick Thompson
Owen,

The moth model has not been updated since hector was a pup.  Is that bad
manners?  Bad self promotion?  I dont think models are forward compatible.
Or is it that the program is not backward compatible with its models.  I
think Shawn might be willing to upgrade  it, if I asked him nicely.   Nick

I want to correct a statement I made earlier.  The GIS extension does
not work as an applet when accessing GIS files.  Thanks to Pietro
Terna's trying to make a GIS applet, we were able to determine the
problem and to have it put on the NetLogo future issues list.
