Fwd: Google Reader – Google

Just in case folks forgot  http://www.google.com/reader/about/

The data will be available until noon July 15 via TakeOut.

Just curious: Did many of us just "move on" and stop using RSS?  I found myself considering that but after using a few of the alternatives, realized that I really depend on RSS!  Google (see site above) claims RSS usage has declined.  My guess that's right, its a somewhat older tech and predates "social".  Not sure I can think of a "social" RSS replacement.

Russ Abbott

I moved to Freedly, which I like a lot. Much prettier and with good functionality.

I moved to Feedly. I might change to one of the paid services for the extra features and also <paranoia> because Feedly still uses Google's sign-in, and I dislike being signed into Google all day.</paranoia>

Arlo Barnes
Actually, all the recent discussion of people's RSS workflows has made me want to get into using it (I have relied on routine and bookmarks and email subscriptions previously). I might use an RSS client rather than a website, though. Still need to research, but in that my archived FriAm / other threads are a good resource.
