forgive the stutter-typing that sent two blank messages to the list
I thought I heard at Friam on Friday that Norman would also be doing a presentation at the Complex? Is that happening? on a schedule somewhere? Roger brought Norman by FRIAM last Friday. We had a nice chat with
him. He will give a similar talk on Wednesday night at the Complex: http://sfcomplex.org/wordpress/2009/01/margolis#more-1514 Should be good. -S On Tue, Feb 3, 2009 at 9:24 AM, Owen Densmore <[hidden email]> wrote: > In light of some of our earlier conversations, this looks like a good talk. > I won't be able to make it (plumbing!) but if someone does, could you let > us know how it went? > -- Owen > > Begin forwarded message: > > From: Della Ulibarri <[hidden email]> > Date: February 3, 2009 8:24:09 AM MST > To: [hidden email], [hidden email] > Subject: [Activities-announce] SFI Seminar — Today > *** SFI SEMINAR *** > Tuesday, February 3, 2009 • 12:15 p.m. • Medium Conference Room, SFI > > "What is Energy?" > by > Norman Margolus > MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory > Abstract > Entropy was once viewed as an abstract mathematical construct, but it is > today understood as a concrete combinatorial quantity that applies to both > quantum and classical systems.
