I've attached my thoughts on who would be strong candidates for Biden to appoint to Cabinet positions. Some positions have multiple suggestions. And some candidates might fit in various positions. Donna Shalala is too old. Jay Inslee is the one to resuscitate the Environmental Protection Agency, and Bill Gates already has a job, although very narrowly focused. Old thinking, except perhaps Inslee. We need transformative leadership now or nothing will change--even while everything is changing! Val Demmings would not back down to Trump on the campaign trail. She’d rough him up, and bring out black voters. But Obama will probably do that too. I worry that Warren is vulnerable to COVID-19 since her brother died. He was elderly,
though. It remains to be seen how much of a genetic component there is to vulnerability. Most of those look good, George, Note that when we say someone is too old we say that from the perspective of someone who is older than they are. At least I do. In the election of 1984(?) my mother-in-law and a friend organized a Committee to Retire the President. Membership was restricted to women whose husbands were Reagan's age. Their point was that they live with someone as old as Reagan and know what they're talking about. I think Trump is not only too old but has other mental defects which make him a dangerous president. I am glad to see that Stacy Abrams's name is not among your vice-presidential choices but is nonetheless in the cabinet. Frank On Mon, May 18, 2020 at 1:30 PM George Duncan <[hidden email]> wrote:

Interesting choices. I'd try to find another token Republican than Mitt Romney. Beto is Beto not Beta. John On Mon, May 18, 2020 at 2:30 PM George Duncan <[hidden email]> wrote:

Beto is a nickname (apodo) for Alberto usually. Beta would be the same for Alberta (female). On Mon, May 18, 2020 at 4:25 PM John Dobson <[hidden email]> wrote:

I agree with those who say we need a black woman for VP. My choice: either Val Demings or Kamala Harris. (See https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2020/05/15/biden-has-4-great-options-black-female-vp-one-is-his-best/ for two other possibilities.) -- Russ Abbott Professor, Computer Science California State University, Los Angeles On Mon, May 18, 2020 at 6:05 PM Frank Wimberly <[hidden email]> wrote:
