I found the discussion regarding Facebook interesting! provocative even! I withdrew from Facebook because I found it too time consuming, I did not like trying to remind others they were friends, and waiting to see if they agreed -- very strange, I felt -- and so I became the victim to whoever wanted to find me, if and when they did. I found the sudden emails disconcerting, and also just felt too exposed on the thing.
But many really like it! People I know who are very private, generally speaking, have no problem jumping around on facebook and locating people and such. This might be an ego issue? I might not have a strong enough ego?
Stereotyping might be another phenomena that keeps people off.
also, Facebook ended up revealing information I told it not to reveal that it required. Altogether a strange, unpleasant experience.
Wondering sometimes when we will end up conversing with canned voices that we actually think are real -- you know -- call someone and a canned voice that sounds real is able to carry on a conversation with you?
