I agree, Owen. I don't understand this strategy either. Can anyone explain how, once something is up and apparently solid, it requires a lot of money to maintain it?
All in all, Google seems to be trying to disassociate itself from its community(ies). I would be glad to pay for some of its apps and gadgets, but not if I can't count on them being around.
