Last FRIAM several of us were talking about the surprising Edge 2007  
Question:
   What Are You Optimistic About? Why?

Well, one of my favorite web radio sites has a discussion by some of  
the participants:

Some fragments of the program are of direct interest to some of the  
FRIAM conversations.  Examples include:
- Google Earth as a tool for political transparency
- Evidence based social science -- much like Analytic Journalism and  
Human Complex Systems (Arrowhead)
