xcode & java 1.5

Has anyone on the list used Java with XCode on the Mac?  .. and if  
so, can one use Java 1.5 with the latest XCode (2.2.1)?

I'm currently using Eclipse, but its a pretty heavy sledge hammer and  
has been crashing quite a bit when running 1.5 on Mac OS X Tiger.
