show tonight at SFComplex

Stephen Guerin
This should be a good show tonight!

SFMax with Patrick Neher

DATE: Friday, November 6, 2009
TIME: 8:00 pm
COST: $5 suggested donation
LOCATION: Santa Fe Complex

Patrick Neher, double bass player and professor, is recognized as one
of the world's leading virtuoso soloists and composers of music for
double bass. He received his Master of Music Degree with Honors from
the Juilliard School of Music in 1981, under the esteemed tutelage of
the late David Walter. In 1996 he received the coveted Diplôme from
François Rabbath and the International Rabbath Institute, Paris,
France. Mr Neher's multi-media ensemble, Crossing Barriers Group has
performed spectacular events that utilize a multitude of media and
personnel, including collaborations with U. of A. Music Faculty,
avante garde dance ensemble, Double Vision and Chicago's Accessible
Contemporary Music's performance ensemble.

He will be presenting at least three new works, "Planet Erth",
"Crystals", and a live multi-track improvisation. Each piece utilizes
various media combined in performance with live double bass playing. I
will talk a bit about the process in creating the works and the
evolution of my composing ... from "Academic - Classical" to
randomness, to multi-media productions.

Re: show tonight at SFComplex

Wish I were going to be there. I'm back east this week, and don't get back to Albuquerque until 8:00 tonight.  Sounds like this will be a good show.
