Tom-have you used this service? edy

Many nonprofits and government agencies already know about Eurekalert! It was
launched by the American Association for the Advancement of Science in 1996
to help scientific organizations send news to reporters and the public.

You can subscribe on an annual or per-news-release basis and have your
release sent to 5,100 reporters.

Material eligible for posting on EurekAlert! includes news releases
announcing the latest findings and research advances in science, medicine,
technology and the social sciences; announcements about scientific press
conferences, meetings, grants, achievements, awards and newly published
books; and information relating to the business of science.

The company also offers reporters a searchable experts database.

regarded, though.
