Experts Versus Elites

This post makes some good points about specialists/bottom and generalists/top and panels/off-domain vs. presentations/on-domain. But there seems to be something lurking between the lines ... some kind of "offended stance" ... like he feels he doesn't get enough adulation for his contributions ... perhaps the irritating grain that might later become the *pearl* of a populist position (where the elite are all corrupt and need to be taken down a notch). I can definitely see him becoming a member of the Dark Enlightenment, if he's not already. As the apotheosis of her field, a Nobel Laureate is not just an expert. An expert is often a powerless person of average intelligence. Someone that toils away learning about this or that in a constrained context.
