offtopic Qs

Gillian Densmore
Greetings fellow technomancers!
A few off topic questions,
I don't suppose anyone has had experience locating flavful in-season fruits 'n berries in santa fe. I ask because the last time I was at Smiths, then TJs and whole payecheck the answer was no. So before wasting good gas running around to the co-ops or possibly sunflower I thought I might ask these lists as there full of technomancers that know there stuff about local knowledge.
(As example when I picked up a storebranded blend of "winter berries" from smiths a few weeks ago: that mix had zero flavor)-

Is it just me or does it seem like a some drivers in SUVs have what amounts to zero situational awareness? I ask this several times now doing stuffs someperson in a SUVish car  will blow through intersections not bothering to check if anyone else around. For example I once saw someone hit sheriff car doing that. My follow up question is also does anyone have some speculations amusing or otherwise.

Not that I have any authority on this topic.  But I tend to think all
non-professional big vehicle drivers tend to have less "feel" for the
road than small vehicle drivers.  Based mostly on my experiences driving
my truck vs. my motorcycle vs. my bicycle, I know I feel my surroundings
more when my interface to them is more immediate.  I find myself forcing
extra attention to detail when driving my truck because I feel like I'm
encased in a sound-proof, heavy cage.

I suspect the SUV drivers you're talking about tend to only/mostly drive
that SUV and don't spend much time in smaller vehicles.  Or if they do,
they forget that they're insulated in those larger vehicles.

Living in ABQ, I have no clue about Santa Fe stores. We get good, fresh vegetables and fruits from Sprouts/Sunflower. Costco and Sams Club have tasty fresh fruit but no organic and watch where it's grown.

There is a documented phenomena of drivers/riders not noticing vehicles smaller than their own.

To take advantage of this, get an older, mechanically sound pickup or full-size SUV with a few odd-colored body parts and wear.  People get out of your way.  Yuppiemobiles cringe away from it when you park at fashionable places.  Don't get a jacked up monster - get something that looks like a working vehicle.  Do drive it carefully, however.
