Re: observability and randomness

David Eric Smith
Wow, that’s funny and weird, thank you.

I haven’t even read wherever that came from.

I think it is good that they didn’t confuse me with the serial killer.  Somebody at SFI once introduced me by saying that if you search on the name I have, you mostly get google hits on the serial killer.  I keep meaning to check that, but get distracted by emails I owe people, and then forget.

There will be many things for you to criticize, and I will likely agree with all the criticisms.  Not sure what one does.  I guess, just move on and accept that one did what one could, and tomorrow needs to be a another day.

Thanks Glen,

Eric

In reply to this post by Marcus G. Daniels
Marcus, I have to admit something that I have not formerly been willing to leave a written record saying.  But I guess my vanity would feel slighted if nobody ever noticed it.

There was a time I was getting lectured fairly heavily about my lack of a web presence at SFI.  They were right to lecture; I was being lazy and stubborn, and SFI needed advertising help because they were trying to survive during the last recession.  But I was also in a snit about people giving themselves too much credit, and not enjoying being railroaded.

So I put together a bunch of web pages, to cover things that were needed, but refused to use the first-person (and I think second-person) pronoun anywhere in them.  It turned out to require a little work, as normal English construction typically leads one into sentences that are hard to get out of without those.
