math wiki issues yet again

The folks over at the N-category Cafe are revisiting the idea of having
a math wiki.   This seems
to be a perennial issue for us in FRIAM, and the N-Cat discussion on
this issue has some interesting angles

For a fallback for inadequate browsers / font installations, one could
render MathML on the server side using XULRunner.   There are various
offscreen surface packages for Mozilla/Firefox, such as OffScreenGecko.

Here's another that's used with Second Life:

This would be like Print To PDF, but instead to raster image that one
would then reference in HTML.
