Prediction Company is a Santa Fe, NM based firm utilizing advanced
technologies for prediction and computerized trading of financial
instruments.  It is a wholly owned subsidiary of UBS Americas
but operates largely as an independent company.  We have multiple
openings in our technology team and are looking for highly competent
individuals.  We offer a highly competitive compensation and benefits
package.

Software Developers
------------------

Multiple openings for mid and senior level software developers.  The
job responsibilities include specifying, designing, implementing and
testing data management, research support, model development,
financial trading, risk management and accounting applications and
infrastructure.  The primary platform will be Linux and Solaris. The
primary development languages are C++, Python and SQL.

Successful candidates for these positions will have a degree in
computer science or electrical engineering, experience in specifying,
designing and implementing software systems and significant experience
with C++ and/or other object-oriented languages and systems.  The ideal
candidate will have experience with one or more of the following: data
warehousing, data mining, quality assurance procedures and methods,
distributed and multiprocess systems, transaction processing systems,
database systems (relational and other), user interfaces, financial
trading systems.


Systems Administration
----------------------

The successful applicant will have excellent organizational skills and
personal discipline.  Experience with Linux, Solaris, TCP/IP networks
is required.  Experience with NFS, Sybase RDBMS, financial data services,
ClearCase, open source software, web technology are desired.

The job responsibilities include daily administration, monitoring,
maintenance and enhancement of highly sophisticated development and
production computing environments.


Data Administration
-------------------

The successful applicant will have excellent organizational skills and
operational discipline. Attention to detail and correctness and a
dedication to getting the job done right are essential.  Basic software
development skills in a modern language (C, C++, Python, Java) are required.
We are willing to train an applicant with the required software skills
in the particulars of the job, but past experience in the financial domain
is a plus.

Job responsibilities include:

- financial data administration and maintenance

- database administration, monitoring, maintenance and performance tuning

- development of data maintenance and support tools and applications

Desired skills and experience include:

- Knowledge of financial data providers and access mechanisms

- Experience managing and maintaining corporate financial data and financial
market data.

- Experience operating, administering and optimizing relational database
management systems (Sybase preferred).
