All,
I am not sure why anybody would take directions from somebody who cannot
manage to post a readable message to the list, but perhaps an idiot's
perspective might be useful here. I recommend this route to strangers
because whatever the street signs may say, you are ALWAYS on the same
street ALWAYS headed in the right direction. The only confusion might be
at St. Michael's WHICH YOU NEED TO AVOID. .
IDIOT'S ROUTE TO JANE'S
1. 25 to exit 284, Las Vegas Highway
2. N. on Las Vegas Highway
3. Bear R. on Las Vegas Highway, avoiding St Michael's Dr.
4. Las Vegas highway BECOMES Pecos Trail (at bend in trail)
5. Pecos Trail BECOMES Old Santa Fe Trail
6. CROSS Paseo de Peralta (HEADS UP, YOU ARE GETTING CLOSE)
7. Pass State Buildings (KEEP TO THE RIGHT, GO SLOW, ALMOST THERE!)
8. ON YOUR RIGHT, between two buildings is a TEENSY WEENSY street, an
alley, really. This is East Vargas. TURN RIGHT.
9. In about a hundred feet you will see Jane's on your left, behind a white
picket fence.
10. Just BEFORE you reach Jane's, however, is an entrance to a State
parking lot on
your right. Local tradition has it that if you are pure of heart and
believe in chaos, you can park here without getting a ticket. As a
newcomer I cannot vouch for the truth of this belief.
WHEN YOU MISS EAST DEVARGAS, as you most surely will the first time, follow
these instructions.
11. CROSS THE RIVER (which is really a dry creek bed, so, easy to cross
without noticing), TURN RIGHT ON East Alameda.
12 Turn right on Paseo de Peralta
13 PASS East DeVargas (Sorry, now it's one way against you.)
14 Follow Paseo de Peralta around to the right.
15. Turn Right on Old Santa FE trail.
GOTO INSTRUCTION SEVEN ABOVE .
If you make in less than three passes, there is a prize awaiting you at
Jane/s
