We should all go to Jane's and chain ourselves to the espresso machine.
What a loss. One of the best in a long history of coffee shops, including Vienna, where I imprinted on them. Something about echoes of that fin de siecle air of creating something new... I've worked in Travel Bug, nice space and people, wifi, good global feeling what with all the maps and books and language courses on the shelves, quiet to the point I worry about their profit margin. We could ask how they feel about a group invasion Friday mornings. Cloud Cliff is a nice space, chairs a little weird, wifi, fair amount of space off-peak hours when I've been there, good creative vibes. Other spots ok but either lower on my ambiente scale or I just don't know them. Don't know Museum Cafe, brunched there once, nice spot, but the wait-staff acted like we were an imposition. Beyond that all sorts of spaces come to mind, but they'd be missing the critical coffee and breakfast ingredients. Mike |
Too bad the Teahouse at top of Canyon is configured the was it is inside.
Outside in good weather is perfect. Good coffee, tea and great food. I miss you all and will be back in July after design week is put to bed. Am having a great time planning it. There will be a New Media Museum prototype as part of it. And lots of other cool things. Stephen, call me for some info that might interest you and your tenant whose name I have lost.
