Xgrid: High Performance Computing for the Rest of Us

Apple's attempt to make multi-processor computing easy:

I've always felt the lack of a coherent and semi-portable programming
model is at the heart of people's not using "super-computing".  Apple
looks to somewhat simplify the configuration, but I'm not sure if
that's where the trouble lies.  But clearly use of BEEP as a shared
protocol opens this architecture to other system types like linux and
windows.
