Not a technical difference, but a social difference. We had to go through the phase of Java failing in this space, and JavaScript not being the right tool for the job.

Nice article, thanks! I can't help but wonder if (as Ray commented re: unikernels) we're simply returning to the past. I'm too ignorant to see how this is _fundamentally_ different from virtual machines and bytecode.
