Wednesday Tech Chat, April 21, 10am
*** NOTE EARLY TIME ***
SPEAKER: Roger Critchlow
TOPIC: Eclipse and ABM
LOCATION: 624 Agua Fria Street Conference Room
TIME: 10am
An informal group has been gathering on Wednesdays at the Agua Fria office
to plan and develop an open source agent-based toolset appropriate for
commercial and research work. We're trying to build a robust community
framework instead of rolling our own all the time. The intent is to build a
framework that has strong interactive 3D visualization, easy to deploy
(Mac/Windows/Linux), expressive scripting and system level language support,
GIS, and strong parameter sweeping and statistics hooks.
Recent talks have been:
a few weeks of Monte Carlo review by Robert Holmes
a couple weeks on Bayesian Methods by Frank Wimberly
ABM and Landscape Architecture by Kim Sorvig
GIS and ABM by Robert and Owen featuring:
GRASS <
http://www.baylor.edu/~grass/> and
OpenMap <
http://openmap.bbn.com/>.
This week, Roger Critchlow will present his explorations with Eclipse
<
http://www.eclipse.org> as a possible IDE/workbench/plugin architecture
that may suitable as a host environment for an ABM framework.
Please feel free to drop by. As this is a morning talk there will be no
lunch provided. If your age is evenly divisible by 3, consider bringing some
pastry :-)
