I may be wrong, but I doubt Owen sent it. Owen, living in his "Mac-Believe"
world tends not to sully himself with .exe's :-) Instead, I think a virus spreader/bot posted to the list and faked Owen's return email address. I get many virus attempts like that a day from spoofed email addresses I recognize. The bot probably scanned the public archive of FRIAM and grabbed Owen's email address from his signature. The archives are not supposed to include the sender's email in the FROM" field. I'll look into why it may be showing it in the form "stephen.guerin at redfish.com". I believe the virus was caught on the mailing list server and not propagated. Let me know if it got through to someone's machine. -Steve |
