featured a note (http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/03223/210920.stm)
about Thomas Sandholm to be awarded a prize at IJCAI in Acapulco this
week.  Apparently his techniques have saved business clients (including
our dear P&G) millions of dollars through his firm CombineNet.

His homepage at CMU is literally littered with recent papers on
multiagent systems, combinatorial auctions and other topics of interest.
  I tried to count the number of 2003 dated works, but gave up.
