Suggestion: FRIAM Meeting Place - From Jane's to (St.) John's, Perhaps?

QEF@aol.com
Greetings, all --

Allow me to suggest my alma mater, St. John's College, as a possibility for
future FRIAM meetings. There are two options:

The Coffee Shop offers a good selection of coffee, tea, and breakfast  items;
it has open and not-so-open places to congregate.

The Dining Hall charges visitors $4.50 for breakfast.  While  it may be
institutional, I generally believe it's hard to go wrong with toast,  especially
when you make it yourself.

Pluses: Great views of the Jemez Mountains, nice outdoor seating

Minuses: Unsure about WiFi (but I'd be happy to work with FRIAM and the
College on this), parking is a bit remote (the visitors' lot is called "France"
by the students because it's so far away), could be noisy at times,  although
mornings are pretty peaceful, by and large.

Another possibility, if the group wanted to do it, would be to see whether
we could reserve the private dining room (just off the Dining Hall); it seats
about 14-16 comfortably, if memory serves. Folks could go through the main
chow  line ($4.50) and then go to the room.

All the best,

Hey, that's a pretty cool idea. And it has the potential of getting some
young Johnnie's perspectives migrating through the mix...
