Just out of curiosity: who among us use the Flash development
environment?  And does anyone create Flash programs/content without
the Adobe/Macromedia IDE?

I ask because every now and again I hear of ways to use Flash by
writing EcmaScript directly and then magically packaging it up so
that it is your basic Flash content.  But I've never seen it done ..
yet.

I've done a tiny tiny bit of programmatically-generated Flash using
Flex (server-side ActionScript and XML). it's also possible to
generate Flash Remoting server-side in a couple different ways (both
proprietary and reverse-engineered/open-source), but that's really
just a Flash version of XML-RPC.
