Signal Map

Here's a mashup of Google Maps and cell phone coverage.
<http://www.signalmap.com/>

A friend sent it to me because I'm having so much difficulty getting
an iPhone to work here in Santa Fe.  I believe its mainly an ATT
issue, but it may also be that the iPhone itself has reception
problems.  Anyway, this is a good way for the community to build a
better coverage map than the cell phone carriers.

I was surprised at how "little" was already on the map. I thought to
correct that and I tried adding my own.
After placing 3 dead-zones and 2 1-bar zones near my house, I ran into a
5-per day add-signal limit.

I suppose I might come back to it on another day, but I am not sure... I
had imagined I would drop
dozens of T-mobile High, Medium, Marginal and Zilch spots in the areas I
am way too familiar with,
but that seems unlikely now.

Meanwhile, I know the signal strength to be highly conditional, even by
time of day.  That is why I started
with the easy part "zilch"...
