Self-intro

Pamela McCorduck
I'm an author, perhaps best known in this community for "Machines Who
Think," the first history of artificial intelligence, which was re-
published last year in a 25th anniversary edition by A. K. Peters.
You can see my other books and interests on my website,
www.pamelamccorduck.com  (In fact, my book, "The Futures of Women,"
tells in slightly fictional form about some of the work done by Merle
Lefkoff in former Yugoslavia, which is how I first met Merle, and
first heard about FRIAM, though I was guest of my good friend Tom
Johnson at my first FRIAM meeting.)

I sense that the study of social dynamics as illuminated by agent-
based modeling is a story ready to be told, which is what I plan for
my next book.

Indeed!  Our experience at the Lake Arrowhead conferences on Human
Complex Systems has been quite positive.  Its interesting to see such
a wildly different set of people coming together to discuss the
topic.  And UCLA has just recently initiated their Human Complex
Systems department formally.
