Stephen,
That's really neat. When you drive past Valle Grande you can see a small peak--actually a hill--just east of a much larger one. You can see that clearly in the rendering. I don't know if the area I selected contains the ignition point of the Cerro Grande fire but I wonder if it would be possible to do a CA simulation of that on this terrain. Detailed wind data would be hard to find. Frank ----- Original Message ----- From: Stephen Guerin To: Friam Sent: Friday, July 18, 2003 2:24 AM Subject: RE: [FRIAM] Recognize This? Frank,
I think I read about someone somewhere (Wolfram?) using cellular = automata to model turbulent flow. A potential substitue for non-existent wind data? = It could be interesting to superimpose something like that on a CA = simulation of fire propagation (particular as they drive each other) Robert -----Original Message----- From: [hidden email] [mailto:[hidden email]] On Behalf = Of Frank Wimberly Sent: 18 July 2003 00:27 To: [hidden email] Subject: Re: [FRIAM] Recognize This?
