This is right on the cutting edge, apparently.
Today I received a glossy brochure for SD Best Practices 2003 (looks like they bought the IEEE mailing list) and it has several sessions about Scrum in it: You will gain an understanding of empirical processes, emergence, self-organization, and adaptation, along with a detailed understanding of Scrum principles, flow, roles, artifacts, and operation. I guess we were in the wrong application of complexity and chaos, the real money is in software project management. Scrum is the agile management methodology that goes with agile software projects. Here's another good one from another session: The agile principles state another [definition of simple code] - "the art of maximizing the amount of work not done." I wonder how the thermodynamics of that works out? It looks like the brochure is online at www.sdexpo.com. -- rec -- Steve Donahue wrote: > fyi > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: <[hidden email]> > To: <[hidden email]> > Sent: Wednesday, May 14, 2003 6:14 AM > Subject: [scrumdevelopment] Digest Number 317 > > > ------------------------ Yahoo! Mike Beedle was at the Biological Framings conference at SFI that some of us
attended. Here was his position paper for the conference <http://www.livingmetaphor.org/investigations-as-foundation.html>. -S ____________________________________________________ http://www.redfish.com [hidden email] 624 Agua Fria Street office: (505)995-0206 Santa Fe, NM 87501 mobile: (505)577-5828 > -----Original Message----- > From: [hidden email] [mailto:[hidden email]]On Behalf > Of Roger E Critchlow Jr > Sent: Tuesday, May 27, 2003 9:33 PM > To: Steve Donahue > Cc: [hidden email]; [hidden email] > Subject: [FRIAM] Re: Fw: [scrumdevelopment] Digest Number 317 > > > > > This is right on the cutting edge, apparently. > > Today I received a glossy brochure for SD Best Practices 2003 (looks > like they bought the IEEE mailing list) and it has several sessions > about Scrum in it: > > You will gain an understanding of empirical processes, > emergence, self-organization, and adaptation, along with > a detailed understanding of Scrum principles, flow, roles, > artifacts, and operation. > > I guess we were in the wrong application of complexity and chaos, the > real money is in software project management.
