Hi all! I'm trying my hand again at making a fun place for people to work together on stuff. BUT For example think I want something where litterally while looking at it I can try out different set ups from fonts, menu's so so as it has fun star trek's starfleet type of theme going. I think I want the option to try to litterally be able to put tittles anouncements and posts in different parts of the page while looking at it so I know what it'll look like when someone else goes there. (Hopefully they do!) It's only about 2 weeks old and that's when I ask myself: is this reely the tool for the job? For example So recomend away. LOL other than: dude! get a coppy editor and speel checker. Yes I know it's got a few typos and spelling errors. But I just wanted to set up the first page, see how things look, and ask myself: is that reely the tool I want to be using? if not what is? TLDR? Hi I'm setting up a play nice website as a hobby and boy was that PITA to do in wordpress. Is there a better tool for this? Oh and here is the problem page with proof of a bunch of bugs: ============================================================ FRIAM Applied Complexity Group listserv Meets Fridays 9a-11:30 at cafe at St. John's College to unsubscribe http://redfish.com/mailman/listinfo/friam_redfish.com FRIAM-COMIC http://friam-comic.blogspot.com/ by Dr. Strangelove |

It's not clear to me what you mean by "stuff". Are you talking solely about multiple people blogging to the same site? Or are you talking about collaboration on text documents? Or do you have in mind something broader ... like collaborative mind-mapping?
Here's a list of some collaborative systems: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_collaborative_software On 05/02/2017 11:55 AM, Gillian Densmore wrote: > I'm trying my hand again at making a fun place for people to work together on stuff. -- ☣ glen ============================================================ FRIAM Applied Complexity Group listserv Meets Fridays 9a-11:30 at cafe at St. John's College to unsubscribe http://redfish.com/mailman/listinfo/friam_redfish.com FRIAM-COMIC http://friam-comic.blogspot.com/ by Dr. Strangelove

Thanks for the question Glen ^_^ I think what I have is this mental picture where somehow some people (or groups) somehow write articles and worktogether with those. Someone might have say a reely cool story talking about how that other Densmore found beer on mars, or raving and geeking about some great coffee and beer he likes.I think I also want a way where if some(S) are want to work on a not quite ready to publish paper they can do that to where only them and the system sees it, and they can worktoegher on it. As concrete examples. They could well be a resident Uber Geek at NASA, or LANL and have some great story they're group can finally share about the deep space probe around orbiting Saturn, Or espousing the wonders of Energy Theory. Those are I think some of the reasons I I want to be easy and fun to use. And feel reely inspiring, cool and just a plain fun place to go to use. Writing articles or papers for me should come Complete with undue's oops and typos happen. Or you need to include pictures and vidoes to show what that group has. Call me old fashioned but I think the search for the Next Great Framework is a never ending quest, always ending with yet another Better Great Framework. The good news is that most folks know this now and the new direction is for much simpler solutions. Like: http://moonjs.ga/ and https://vuejs.org/. I would check out the MVC ToDo list: http://todomvc.com/ for examples. OTOH, Medium https://medium.com/ is a great solution for those who want to Write rather than Fuss With Things. I've used it and have given up on blogs etc. Medium is popular not only because it makes publishing/content so easy, but also because the Discuss part of posts are "first class" in that they become tiny posts of their own. A Thread so to speak. -- Owen On Tue, May 2, 2017 at 3:47 PM, Gillian Densmore <[hidden email]> wrote:

There are hierarchies for multi-user blogs.
For eg. would you want multiple users to be able to edit the same article (like a wiki) ? Or do you want a single user to write "his" article, which an administrator can edit / delete. HTMLY (http://www.htmly.com) is light enough for the 2nd type of blog.and simulates Wordpress well enough with minimal resources and no databases, rendering well enough on (Android) mobiles eg: http://www.wikipediacritics.com/category/wikipedia-garbage-in-garbage-out On 5/3/17, Gillian Densmore <[hidden email]> wrote: > Thanks for the question Glen ^_^ > I think what I have is this mental picture where somehow some people (or > groups) somehow write articles and worktogether with those. Thanks again Roy! It looks like I might like Bliki(Blog+Wiki) for this. I tried out TikiWiki ages ago. It seemed pretty fun to use then. I've googled for what ones are out their with easy to follow how to's just try them out. DokuWiki. Pm, Pb and FOSWiki. Any ideas what to look for or articles on trying a Wiki as Blog+WebyWeb helper? In a Weird way that might be what I'm looking for. And as and Glen pointed out because the likely triekier part of colaberating on articles or how to's is baked in. Anyway thanks again for the fresh insperation and ideas. I reely apreciate that.
