I have a musician friend (the Irish musician in the El Farol paper)
who wants to start a web site. It'll have a lot of info on old time Irish music and a place for him to sell his CDs. Several of us have been using HostGo, which when it started was quite cheap. But I think you can get similar services now from hosting services that cost less, which will be important for my friend who has to be frugal. So does anyone have experiences with web site hosting services that are reasonably priced? HostGo is down to $6.50/mo for a 6 month payment. -- Owen Owen Densmore - http://backspaces.net - http://redfish.com |
I use site5.com; not sure how it compares price wise (there are a number
of different plans), but I've been happy with their service. I recommend them pretty happily. - Martin Owen Densmore wrote: > I have a musician friend (the Irish musician in the El Farol paper) who > wants to start a web site. I use http://www.worldwebhosters.com/ for a couple of sites. Their
introductory Special starts out at $0.99/mo ($11.88/yr or $100 for life) and comes with 50 MB disk space, no setup fee up to 1GB.mo transfer rate, unlimited email addresses, etc. etc. I use their Starter plan ($2.99/mo, $25/yr, $125 for life, 500 MB disk space, no setup, 5GB/mo transfer rate) because the Special wasn't available when I signed up. If you need ecommerce (it was not clear to me if your friend does or not) you will have to try elsewhere or do it yourself. Tech support is by webpage form. Plenty reliable for me. Good luck Thanks Robert Cordingley Owen Densmore wrote: > I have a musician friend (the Irish musician in the El Farol paper) > who wants to start a web site. pair.com, still $4.95 a month for the basic account before prepayment
discounts, and still operating without a hitch. -- rec -- |
