For some reason, privacy and IP laws seem to be on the same path to me.
I _thought_ I remembered an essay or something by Greg Bear regarding
how we should expect our privacy to vanish as tech advances; but I can't
find it, now.
It seems to me that privacy is like ... copyright taken to an extreme.
They're both mechanisms for controlling data. I'm just not sure to what
extent copyright implies _personal_ data. It would be hard to make the
argument that my birthday has the same character as a poem I write.
(Ha!) But it seems clear that "my favorite movie is Mad Max" does have
the same character as a poem I write.
Anyway, sorry for rambling.
