Photos: If All of Earth's Water was put into Single Sphere, from the USGS Water Science School

.. a picture of the earth and a sphere of all the earth's water .. as
a comparison.

It is striking, but then I realized that we think of water in terms of its surface area. The surface of the earth is mostly water. And deep as the oceans are, their volume clearly doesn't compare to the volume of the earth
