Java Engineer
Packet Analytics specializes in software tool development for IT
security assessments and incident response. Our flagship product,
Net/FSE, the Network Forensic Search Engine is a network search engine
and incident response workflow tool for security analysts.
The company is looking for an exceptional software engineer with a
desire to be an early part of something big working in an exciting,
seed-stage technology startup environment.
Responsibilities:
- Work with product management team to transform requirements and needs
into value-added and well-integrated solutions
- Design and implement rich Internet web applications using Java
frameworks and other Internet technologies
- Drive UI design and usability innovation
- Develop unique solutions to increase applications performance and
scalability.
Required Experience:
- 5+ years experience as a Software Developer, preferably in a
commercial software development environment
- Strong Java programming and debugging skills
- Strong experience developing web applications and user interface with
Java technologies, especially Tomcat, JSP, JSTL and Spring
- Relational database experience with PostgreSQL or MySQL
- Experience developing with GWT or similar JavaScript toolkits (Dojo,
YUI, etc)
- Experience developing with web presentation technologies, especially
AJAX, DHTML, JavaScript, CSS and multi-browser compatibility
- MS in Computer Science (or BS with equivalent work experience).
Desired skills:
- Experience in the network security field
- C, C++, Python development experience
- XML and web services experience
- Proven history of developing large-scale high performance web-based
applications
- Passionate about search technologies and dynamic web-based interfaces
