Dear Gillian and others,
Thanks for your continued concern and hand holding. Jack was able to get the clone started in an hour and a half. It only took that long because of a completely counterintuitive wrinkle in how to mount the drive+dock which required a deep dive in to the back rooms and lower cellars of Windows. Also, the EliteBook people in Rio Rancho once again demonstrated their remarkable help skills. That support unit is worth buying a computer from HP just to be supported by them. The clone itself required just under six hours, during which I think my computer was always available to me, but I didn’t try my luck too much with that. I am now wondering if I have the nerve to try to boot the computer from the new drive while it’s still in the dock. If I can, then I have managed (with all your help) to protect myself from the impending HD crash without losing contact with the fire marshal in New Braintree, etc.
I was looking across the room today at the burgeoning Friam table and thinking è What a great group of people! ç Particularly, Jack. FRIAM is, and always has been, the high point of my seek in Santa Fe. I find it kind of humbling. I was thinking, what skills I had to offer in return. Hmmm! Well, if any of you ever needs a hair split, I guess I am your man. };-) [sigh] Each of us offers what he can.

Just checking in on the How's dun that front. I don't have your hailing frequency (phone number) handy to call and check in.I humoursly suppose as a dude that thinks Klingons are awsome checking in with you on a email list is apropiate somehow. I also want to respect your bounderies.
It also raises a fairly valid perplexing thing how on earth does someone go about backing stuff up? oO seems kind of silly to need to have a small server just make sure your tech life doesn't go kaboom for what ever reason
