My new interdisciplinary book about evolution,
complexity and multi-agent systems is finally published: The Emergence of Complexity Jochen Fromm Kassel University Press, 2004 ISBN 3-89958-069-9 200 Pages http://www.upress.uni-kassel.de/abstracts/3-89958-069-9.html Short Abstract This book considers the question how complex systems suddenly emerge during the course of evolution and why the long-winded evolution of systems and species is interspersed with short phases of fast revolutions. Based on an agent based view of complex systems, it describes how systems become more and more complex, well illustrated with many examples for the emergence of complexity. From ancient cultures to modern states and from the earliest primitive organisms to self-conscious human beings, the text explores the widest range of phenomena with the fewest possible principles. Price: printed book 12 Euro (4 Whopper or Big Macs for Americans), printable PDF version 5 Euro (1 1/2 Whopper), unprintable PDF version free, the unprintable PDF file is free for download here http://cgi.uni-kassel.de/~dbupress/download_frei.pdf.cgi?3-89958-069-9 Regards, Jochen Fromm |

It is only available in English. The PDF-file in English is free available
here http://cgi.uni-kassel.de/~dbupress/download_frei.pdf.cgi?3-89958-069-9 If you want to purchase a copy in the USA or from outside Europe, then you eventually have to contact me off-list, and I will try to send you a copy. I guess the interest will be limited, and as long as the number of potential buyers is low, I can handle it myself. The publisher seems to have difficulties to sell and ship it oversea. > Where can I purchase it in English? > > Gus Koehler, Ph.D. > Principal > Time Structures > 1545 University Ave. > Sacramento, CA 95826 > 916-564-8683 > Fax: 916-564-7895 > www.timestructures.com |
