Fred,
I enjoyed reading the article. I agree that it is more realistic, voire optimistic. I've been thinking of ways to polish an opportunity out of this trend. To best express my thoughts, I quote from the article: "In order to justify their high salaries, America's future IT workers will need to be more like management consultants, strategists and troubleshooters. They'll need an intimate understanding of the business so that they can devise new IT solutions. They'll help decide which IT work can most efficiently be outsourced; and they'll be liaisons between the work that goes offshore, the work that's subcontracted to other companies in the United States and the IT work done in-house." Does anyone one this list know of a startup that is addressing this? I suspect the "big three" are already in the game, but perhaps there's a specialty or niche. So, if I read this right, Eye-Tea departments would be outsourcing
the outsourcing decisions? We could then make decisions to outsource the decision to employ ourselves. -----Original Message----- From: [hidden email] [mailto:[hidden email]]On Behalf Of Christopher Jungmann Sent: Tuesday, December 30, 2003 7:43 AM To: [hidden email] Subject: Re: [FRIAM] NYT: The White-Collar Blues (Another one .. startingtocome fast!)
