Hi Robert,
I am new to Friam and as I was looking through past emails your
suggestion regarding researching electricity transmission systems
caught my attention (9/29 email).
In the past I analyzed the benefits of using distributed computing
for solving applications in electric power systems, specifically
transient stability analysis of electric power systems. Transient
stability analysis observes the response of a power system to a
large but credible disturbance. Examples of such disturbances are
a powerline sagging into a tree or a tree falling onto a power line.
The former scenario is likely to have caused the recent blackout in
the US and Canada.
Do you usually attend the Friday morning meetings at Jane's?
If so, I would love to discuss this topic in the context of complex
systems with you.
I look forward to meeting you all in the near future.
Regards,
Monika
