Roger,
When Richard Florida arrived at the Heinz School at CMU as a new assistant
professor, I was a "senior" assistant professor, being in my 3rd or 4th
year. I was kind of put off by his presumptuousness or aggressiveness or
something I can't quite label. Little did I know that he would soon blaze
into glory. First he was featured in the campus news; then he was in the
Pittsburgh papers; then the WSJ and the NYT. His notoriety continues.
