For you all with a moment:
A more philosophical question triggered by Jonathan's proposal-
what is 'art' anyway, that we mix it with 'science' or with 'technology'?
Those of us who are doing it, what exactly are we doing?
How do we know when it is in there?
What do we know needs to be added, as we are making things?
Steve S. put up a wiki page for this topic. Also found under 'Homo Ludens' under Projects, etc on the wiki main page
Or - I hesitate to add this, but heck -
what is' technology' anyway?
Seems to me we've hit the edges of the old paradigm, or we wouldn't be talking about this.
??s
Where are the edges of the parameters we are using to define these terms currently?
Are these in the right place for where we are now, globally, culturally, etc?
Do we want to change them? To what?
Sounds multisyllabic to me... (here nodding to Sas)

Orlando here. This is related to an earlier email. Should we invite him to our meeting? O

Hi- I'm Jonathan Morse, one of the artists listed in the email- David and I were interested in doing a show of our work together.
He is a painter, I am a digital printmaker. The work I want to show is manipulated imagery, incorporating scanned, sometimes microscopic, 3D and other imagery. See website below- the series SCALES was what we contemplated and some newer work. I think it's consistent with theManipulated Imagery series that Alysse is hosting, not all of which have any scientific content- in fact at the first screening there was very little.
David's and my work are complementary (his website is shown on his email). Yes it would be a wall show, but maybe an opening could combine with some of the musical or other middle-of-the-space content that's going on at the Complex.
Stephen was previously made aware of this proposal and I believe he felt it was not where the Complex wanted to go as it was wall art not created at the Complex.
However, I think David and I could bring people into the space who were not previously aware of it, so there may be some mutual benefit. Please let us know if there is further interest and we can show you some work in person.
Thank you for your consideration- Jonathan

<[hidden email]>This is an old email that didn't fit because it viewed us as a gallery space but I thought this group should know about the contact with David. I spoke with him and he's quite competent and interesting. Does anyone in the group know him?

Subject: Spring art shows?
To whom it may concern,
My name is David Solomon. I am a local artist and independent curator- you may be familiar with BANG! or Underground Gallery in it's first incarnation.
I am looking for a space to host two shows this coming spring.
One show which I will be organizing with local artist Tim Jag consisting of 6 artist's drawings.
The second is a show with my own work, and another local artist Jonathan Morse.

Please let me know whether this appeals to your mission so that I can continue my search.
Thank you very much,
David Solomon
