Subject: [FRIAM] Italian family reaches out and adopts a granddad
|csmonitor.com
Today's paper had a great article on Giorgio Angelozzi, a recent hero in
Italy for his whacky solution to loneliness: He put an add in the paper to
be adopted by a family needing a grandfather:
http://csmonitor.com/2004/1105/p01s03-woeu.html(I couldn't get at the SF New Mexican article, alas. Google for Giorgio
Angelozzi for *lots* of articles.)
This is a wonderful synergy too: Italy has a birthrate of only 1.1 ..
way beneath the 2.1 needed for population stability. So lots of Italians
would be delighted to take in a boarder into their empty nest.
This brings up a possible stunt for those of us wanting to escape Bush round
Two. Advertise in EU papers for an "adopt an american" sort of thing! I
bet it could start a firestorm of interesting takers.
