Israel, Palestine and the United Nations: Yes to Palestinian statehood | The Economist

Good grist for our mill tomorrow: should Palestine achieve statehood in the UN?

I ask this only because it seems so obvious the answer is "yes" yet the US and France (god!) say no.

Rich Murray-2
Inevitably, Israel, Palestine, and the Arab nations can associate with
the EU, while exponential social evolution continues to render past
divisions irrelevant -- the United States, too, should join the EU
paradigm for democratic human collaboration.

Corporations, the most dynamic unifying global organizations, have to
be required to serve the common good while democratically sharing the
exponentially growing wealth and leisure enabled by technology.
