Introduction to Databases - Stanford University

A bold experiment in distributed education, "Introduction to Databases" will be offered free and online to students worldwide during the fall of 2011. Students will have access to lecture videos, receive regular feedback on progress, and receive answers to questions. When you successfully complete this class, you will also receive a statement of accomplishment. Taught by Professor Jennifer Widom, the curriculum draws from Stanford's popular Introduction to Databases course. A syllabus and more information is available here. We will be projecting the Stanford Machine Learning class at SF_X in the fall. 

We're looking to turn it into a independent study projects class where folks can get UNM credit.

Norvig and Thrun's AI class also looks good.

Reported enrollment in Thrun and Norvig jumped 12000 in the past day, I have adjacent RSS items quoting 58000 from yesterday's NYTimes and 70000+ from SciAm.

If you could only figure out how to make a multiple choice question for an unsolved problem and slip it into your automatically scored quiizzes.  Or make the design of automatically scored problem sets, and their scoring, the subject of the class?
