How to Understand Your Computer - The New Yorker

Forgive me if the FRIAM gang has already seen this.  But if not, here's a lead for the next meeting of your neighborhood's Geek Book Club.  (Sorta sad to say that the author had never heard of Ada Lovelace, which might raise the question, "What is the expected knowledge of an educated person today?"

The BBC Radio 4 had a short but fascinating documentary on Ada Lovelace several years ago. It's still available in their archive: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b0092j0x
