I met Harold B. Salomon and his wife and two young sons at a high school
graduation dinner at Maria's in Santa Fe Saturday for another friend, our
accountant, and his wife, in honor of their son.

He is taking unusual personal responsibility for direct personal foreign
aid -- which should be renamed, "human family aid" -- , so I wanted the
Santa Fe Complex networks to be aware of his purpose and needs.

Likewise for 6 years I have been giving $ 80 monthly, and last July a
desktop computer to a family of five Tibetans in the small, very spiritual
town of Rewalsar, Himalchal Pradesh, India, about 30 miles southeast of
Dharamsala, where the Dalai Lama resides -- Yeshi Hara Choedon will soon
upgrade from phone access to broadband DSL, so we'll be able to share video
chats weekly from her networks to Santa Fe Complex:

The American Haitian Association for Medical, Economical, and Educational

Chief Executive Profile

Harold B. Salomon is a humanitarian who has seen first hand the plight of
the Haitian people, and has used his own limited financial resources to
help.
He has witnessed the level of corruption in Haiti and how U.S. resources
given for the poor have been diverted for the benefits of a few.

He wanted to change that by getting involved.
He has devoted his two houses, one a three levels and the other a one level
house to setup a medical facility in Haiti for the poor.

He had also purchased a 0.61 acre of land to build a hospital to serve a
much larger population estimated at about one million people with no
immediate access to any hospital.

Mr. Salomon thinks that accountability will allow good heartened donors and
non profit organizations to come to the rescue of the poor, the
malnourished, the sick, and the starved Haitians.

He hopes to use his expertise and experience in accounting, auditing and
finance to meet all donors expectation of good accountability, and
satisfying result.

Mr. Salomon in an MBA graduate from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy,
New York.

He has held management, Accounting Auditing and senior Financial Analyst
positions at Citicorp, The Topps cie Inc. in New York, at AT&T and, at The
Louis Berger Group inc. in New Jersey, and is currently the Director of
Finance/ Accounting & Auditing at Hytec, Inc in Los Alamos, New Mexico

MISSION AND PROGRAMS
Mission

The American Haitian Association for Medical, Economical, & Educational
support founded in 2006, grew out of the need to help the poor in Haiti, who
more recently, while trying to escape their misery, have become food for the
shark infested waters of the Bahamas.
To reduce the number of people being killed by consumption of "fake
Medicine", AHAMES delivers, free drugs from the United States or Canada as
well as medical care to the poor with the help of volunteer American health
professionals.
The organization delivers free meals to school children, and pays the
scholarship of those originated from no or low income families.
AHAMES also feeds and provides health care to poor and malnourished women,
and the elderly.
To reduce gastro intestinal disease that is rampant in many poor countries,
the organization builds water wells to provide safe drinking water in areas
where the locals walk for miles to have access to contaminated water for
daily use.
The organization also supports several livelihood enhancement projects to
promote economic self sufficiency.

Programs

AHAMES' programs include a community medical center, and several clinics, a
scholarship fund for poor children, and low or no income families, several
nutrition and food distribution centers, Water wells projects, clothing and
shoe distribution program for poor.
The beneficiary population of these programs is estimated to be at 100,000
people during the organization's first year of operation.

GOALS AND RESULTS

Accomplishments for Fiscal Year Ending December 31, 2007

   1. Established a network of local charitable organizations to increase
the number of beneficiaries in urgent need for help

Objectives for Fiscal Year Beginning January 1, 2008

   1. Build a hospital on the already acquired 0.61 acre of land to serve
the surrounding population of more than a million people and where there is
no health care facility.
   2. Build school and provide access to quality education to poor children
who cannot afford to go to school because of of the poverty of their family
   3. Build several water wells to provide safe drinking water to rural
communities of Haiti, and initiate several livelihood enhancement projects
to prevent Haitians to lose their live at sea trying to come to the United
States

Self Assessment

Donors, are encouraged to visit all facilities to see for themselves how
their contributions, funds etc are being used. in addition to audit report
being provided upon request.
Donors or their representatives are also encouraged to speak directly to
beneficiaries to hear their own testimony about the benefits of AHAMES's
programs to them.
All Federal or State authorities including the Defense Contract Audit Agency
(DCAA) will be given access to books and records of the organization for
compliance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) etc.

Don,
The desire to help is what makes us people.  So much aid for getting people
over short term crises leads to destabilizing their communities, though.  I
wonder, how do you know what aid is really going to be coordinated to avoid
the worst of the common mistakes of upsetting natural balances far from
sight?
