And, It is as much about what carrier you have as the phone type you have.
In the past, I had a GPS in my Verizon Treo and my another Verizon PDA. I
had zero, naught, nil, ability to use it ~because~ Verizon controlled the
exposure of capabilities in the handset and the locked-out the GPS section.
The last I heard it's now 25 cents per use if/when a Verizon business
partner gets in bed with Verizon. So it's about both which device and which
carrier you have.
If we get the biggest carrier to open up, or two others with "critical
market mass" to open up then the whole market may open up.
I look forward to this day!

http://tinyurl.com/29gywpGoogle hasn't yet released MyLocation for Treos. The reason is likely that
the Java midlet version was more important .. most not- quite-smart phones
support it. Note it doesn't mention iPhones which also have a custom
version of Google Maps. Nokia is on board because they have such a huge
part of the European market, and WinMob here in the US.
