Whew! Finally I can update to the latest iOS:
http://www.iclarified.com/26175/google-maps-app-released-for-the-iphone I wonder when the Giants of Industry will stop making Us Consumers the losers in their game. Yea, I know, my next phone will be android after Doug Showed The Way! Doug: can all your stunts be done on non-Google handsets, like for example the Samsung Galaxy? Will Samsung or Google figure out how to upgrade the firmware as soon as available?

My Samsung Galaxy S3 on AT&T just got upgraded to Android 4.1. I don't actually see any obvious changes, so I'm indifferent to questions of upgrade dates.

Hmm..is it usually the case that Samsung promptly updates the phone firmware? I think the current version is 4.2. I'd like to know how many 'droiders have been updated. BTW: I presume you can turn off automatic updates .. you may not want them for various reasons (latest iOS for example removed google maps which are now available so I'll update) -- Owen

The latest Android updates for Nexus 4 phone and Nexus 7 tablet brought it to version 4.2.1 a few days ago. However, as noted in the article I sent out a couple of days ago, bluetooth is still broke in this version.
