Greetings,
I apologize for this mass emailing, but under the circumstances it
seemed best. Anyone who has tried to email me for the past week I am
sure has noticed that everything is bouncing. First, the good news:
The family and everyone at askSam and nextPression are all fine. Now
the bad news: All of our servers are located in north west Florida,
which has been pretty much wiped off the digital map by the Sprint
outages caused by the hurricane. Not only is Sprint down -- they
apparently lost some 600+ DS-3s -- but they have knocked out all the
peering relationships, so other backbone providers in the area seem to
be at best crippled. We're working on a number of ways to get things
back up -- yesterday, we got a small web site up on a partner's site
-- but we are not sure when we'll be fully functional.
On the other hand, it's a bit perverse to complain about email, given
the situation in New Orleans.
Thanks for your patience. I hope all of you and yours are doing well
despite the hurricane tragedy.
Chris Feola
